This is a complaint to science but can I just go to school and get things over with already??? I have only had ONE full day of school since the first week of it. Monday was a teacher day cancelled because of weather and so was my winter guard practice. Tuesday was the first student day which was made e-learning due to weather, no jazz practice after school then. The pep-band/basketball game was cancelled as well. Wednesday was a 2 hour delay day (which was actually rather enjoyable.) Thursday was a full day. Sadly, the day had a messed up schedule due to safety/rules meeting in the middle of it. Friday was cancelled and made e-learning due to weather. I STAND BY this day NOT needing to be cancelled. I was out with my mom Friday from about noon to 4:30pm.. the roads did not start getting bad UNTIL and HOUR AFTER we would have been out of school which we have gone to school many times with those conditions in mind. If anything, and early dismissal day could have worked. Of course, I don't know much from a school board or real adult professional kind of level but as a student I am upset about their choice for Friday. Tuesday and Monday made sense. It was bad.
We have ONE e-learning day left before we have to make up days at the end of the school year. IF THEY USE IT UP LIKE ON FRIDAY I AM GONNA BE SO UPSET. I was and still am very excited for this semester, my last high school semester. I have an art class I've wanted all four years but couldn't fit, I am in Speech (I love giving speeches and I gave a speech in front of my whole class as class president multiple times so a small classroom of the same people is nothing to me- that's another story though.) I have the starting cooking class, which I am the only senior in which was expected. I want to get into cooking/baking before college like I used to love. I am in band and orchestra. Another thing, I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO PRACTICE FOR MY SOLO WHICH IS IN LIKE A WEEK BECAUSE OF SCHOOL VS THE WEATHER. I don't have a cello at home so I have to take it back and forth which can be difficult for me to do since I can't drive. I feel underprepared and am stressing out now in regards to the solo. I also only have one day left to meet a pianist for during the solo. One day to practice with them. One shot to make it to state. In the meantime I have practiced my ensemble number instead. The clarinet is easier to transport. On the other hand, I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO PRACTICE WITH MY ENSEMBLEEEEE. Because of the weather we haven't been able to stay after school to practice together JUST ONCE.
I love winter and I love the snow, I really do, but it is ruining plans and ultimately stressing me out and taking away opportunities for me. I have hope that everything will work out. Even if expectations have dulled slightly- obviously I will try my best to get gold and go to state for my solo but I feel I might get just under gold instead, so I am preparing for the feeling of that outcome.
