I wouldn’t call Mad Anthony a band that failed; rather it was one that never really had the chance to exist in the time they were around.
Recorded in a barn in Santa Barbara, California, the album creates a raw, authentic charm. The opening track, "Babe" features interwoven vocals and delicate acoustic guitar, setting a serene tone. "Rina" a piano-driven piece inspired by a romance in Israel, adds depth with its heartfelt lyrics and melody. "Take Care of Yourself" stands out with its uplifting message and resonant chord progression, while "Nobody Knows" captivates with playful guitar interplay and harmonious vocals. The tender ballad "Someday" enriched by a flute solo, further pushes and showcases the band's emotive songwriting.
It really has a timeless quality to it, highlighting its ability to transport listeners to a bygone era.
