I guessed his favorite color on the first try. Except, I didn’t guess it. I said it casually like we had known each other for eternity. Like we had watched the world change its colors together, and I had memorized the shade that made his eyes light up, the one that held his gaze a little longer.
I simply said his favorite color is green. And yet, I had never been so certain of anything before. I knew it as instinctively as breathing, as if knowing him was second nature. In just a few days, I had come to understand him like a book I’ve read a hundred times—every word, every pause, every unspoken truth etched into my soul.
