Completing Side Quests in Enemy Territory 🇰🇷♞⛨⚔⛨♞🇰🇷

Today I was running around the cursed city of Seoul in Stealth Mode, completing side quests like buying a birthday present for my mom, fulfilling 2 appointments, acquiring inventory items for aura points (just a new perfume and a book LOL), and purchasing items for my friends back in the States. But bruh. The entire time I was so anxious about running into my ops esp when the subway speaker announced that the next stop was 강남역 Gangnam Station (Op #2 works there 💀). I kid you not, I started to sweat nervously and was suddenly hyper-aware of my surroundings, making sure each individual that entered the train car was not Op #2. Then I had to go to 성수 Seongsu afterwards for this specific stationary shop and was forced to walk down memory lane of my past with Op #1 💀 (Op #1 frequents Seongsu a lot). As I was walking through the streets of 성수 Seongsu, I hid half of my face in the collar of my winter coat as a way to keep warm AND so I would not be discovered if Op #1 happened to be there. ISTG it was like I had vietnam war flashbacks with the way I was on defense mode out here 😭 I be in the trenches fr!!! Korea is enemy territory and I'm not even in North! 💀 That's when I knew, I need to leave this country YESTERDAY!!! Ellen's Playground? More like Ellen's BATTLEFIELD !!!

Despite me being anxious and on defense mode, it's more like... I'm anxious of what I'm capable of doing if I ever see they faces because that might be the day I go to prison 💀💀💀 like—I will throw hands and smack them with my prada bag idgaf! I'm too impatient for a karma that I don't know will ever come to them so imma be the karma for them 😤 istg, some people need to find god before god finds them! Even though today was a whirlwind of me speed running side quests, I found myself taking moments to pause and enjoy the finer things in life during the moments of ordinary quietness. Like the way the snowdrops fell from the tree branches as the ice was melted by sunlight. The way the sunbeams shimmered over the Han river as the train crossed the bridge. The heated bus stop benches that melted my ass as I was waiting for my bus to arrive in the freezing cold weather. Some things for sure will be missed. Ik I shit on Korea a lot (my past blogs LMAO) but I do admit that there is a subtle beauty to this country that America doesn't quite measure up to. Tbh, living in Korea only looks good on paper but not really in action. So I've been taking in all of Korea one last time before I leave for good. I enjoyed my vanilla latte at some random ahh cafe in 가로수길 Garosu-gil after my dentist appointment, bought a new signature scent from Diptyque, and went to a bookstore where I bought a Korean poetry book.

As I'm fully transitioning into adulthood, I've been on the hunt for a new signature perfume as a way to almost reinvent myself. I've been wearing Prada Infusion D'Iris for the past 2 years and although it's good, it just represents a time period of naivety and unwanted villain arcs for me. Just like how I am growing up as a person, I'm growing out of that perfume. It's just not me anymore. Today's new inventory find is Diptyque's Lilyphéa parfum and the scent is based on the water lily plant. It literally smells like you're stepping right into a Claude Monet painting. He is my favorite painter and impressionism is my favorite art period too so I just knew right away that this was for me. I'm a bit of a perfume connoisseur and I've never smelled anything quite like it before. It almost smells like a clean aquatic cloud in the countryside of a Northern France garden and I just love it so much! The only thing that isn't cute about this new addition is the price tag 💀 it was ₩474,000 but issokay, I'm making big girl money now so I can splurge here and there! Plus, they gave me hella free samples like whaaaat? I've noticed that luxury brand stores only do that in Korea 🥹 America never gave me that kind of treatment although to be fair, luxury brands are cheaper in the States.

I went to a bookstore today and found a Korean poetry book by an author who I identified with a lot. She talks about her experiences and her daily life in an artistic way that mirrors my life that it actually kind of scared me with how similar we are: the female loneliness and finding joy in the little things in life despite the fog of melancholy that looms over a picture-perfect lifestyle. We both own a black-coated dog too LOL she talks about her dog a lot, it's kind of funny. She like me frfr. Damn, we all be living the same lives ig LMAO. In this one excerpt, she laments over a soulmate that is never coming and is playing hide-and-seek with her. Despite her not loving her soulmate because she has never met them, she finds herself loving them less and less in a love that has never existed as countless nights pass.

Overall, today was a fun day despite having spent most of it traveling around the remnants of battlefields from my past wars. Farewell Korea. You were awful yet beautiful on the surface, much like Korean society. I can't thank you enough for making me realize what is truly important in life, my inner-peace and my loved ones. I will miss shopping here the most ngl LOL
