Alternative and Misunderstood: A Metalhead’s Vent

ya know, i really don't understand these gaseri guys (they're like the Balkan gopniks and chavs). why do they have to make fun of metalheads, goths, punks, emos and whatever, for just liking non-mainstream music from this corner of the world? and for just having a different clothing style. the kids from my old high school used to bully me for liking metal and they even called me a Satanist for wearing an AC/DC T-shirt. i just never understood that mindset. i never made fun of them for liking turbo-folk and trap music, why did they felt the need to make fun of us metalheads for just vibing to Slayer or Megadeth? you know how they call alternative people here from where I'm from? prljave metalike, which means, dirty metalheads cuz they think we're greasy. which is ironic considering the fact that the gaseri from my town smell terrible lolz. i've also seen the phrase "smrt prljavim metalikama!" (death to dirty metalheads!) on some forums and that just made my eyes roll back into oblivion. i've never seen or heard someone say "smrt cajkerima" (death to turbo-folkers). also, a lot of people think you're a part of some cult that was made up by newspapers for being goth. god forbid you wear all black in the summer, people automatically assume you're gonna drag them to some secret society and kill their parents if they don't join your death cult. oh, and if you happen to be a guy with long hair, prepare to be called a slur because real men don't have long hair. (but they worship Jesus, who is depicted to have long hair). 
my mom is okay with my music taste, but even she believes that some bands are satanist (like Korn and Slipknot, heh). no, i don't blast my music around me. my mom just saw me putting some Slipknot poster on the wall and she yelled at me and told me to take it down. yes, i did that and she threw the poster out. 

what also sucks that my old friends used to kinda make fun of me for liking metal and goth music.  my old "best friend" used to say that she can't understand why do i like metal so much and she said that i should just listen to some turbo-folk singers and then maybe i would fit in. she also kept saying how i'm in a phase and how i'm gonna start listening to "actual music". of course i felt hurt by that. who wouldn't be hurt when your supposed best friend low-key makes fun of you for the freaking music you like. i NEVER told her to stop listening to Ceca and Stoja. hell, i didn't mind when she played their music in front of me. we're not friends anymore, but that wasn't the only reason. i'm not gonna dwell on that further. 

the local scene is kinda dead. we don't really have any bars or clubs for alternative people (there are some in the bigger cities, thankfully.) my small town only has one bar that does host bands from my country, so there's that at least.


okay, thanks for reading this "vent" blog. i just wanted to get some things out of my system. 

look, like what you like. don't let other people command you. i don't just listen to rock, metal, goth and punk, i also like rap music, some techno and i'm a sucker for 80s pop and 90s dance. dress however you want. i don't alway dress in black. hell, my style is inspired by the 60s and 70s. so ya, that's all. bye
