movie review ðŸĪŠðŸĪŠðŸĪŠ me time (2022)

ah yes the usual when I genuine like a movie, think it's genuinely heartwarming and unique, and OFC IT HAS TO BE DOWNRATED BY INTERNET WATCHERS 😂😂😂

even worse: they hated it because apparently minorities = woke + politics. LIKE WHAT HAS GENDERFLUIDITY GOT TO DO WITH POLITICS??? 💀 LIKE THAT AINT EVEN THE MAIN POINT OF THE STORY!!

Take this with a grain of salt though because I have a taste in movies which tends to lean on movies that aren't as critically acclaimed by the majority. And yes, I admit I even like some media that's badly received and not even usually in an ironic way. Like some of them has legit good stories to tell, but from what people say, just didnt have a widely appreciated way of telling them.

It was a movie called "Me Time" starring another comedic actor I've yet to watch movies of (Kevin Hart) and it was like basically a story about a stay-at-home dad who got the opportunity to be free and have fun, a break from his usual family routine, and, well, gets into hilarious shenanigans until he faces the consequences, and the movie really goes a dramatic turn from there which I DID NOT EXPECT FROM ITS PREMISE. LIKE THE FUNNY CHAOTIC STUFF HE DID IN THE MOVIE HAD LIKE ACTUAL CONSEQUENCES, and it affected his friends and family and he had to face them and fix his mistakes. AND PEOPLE CRAPPED ON THIS MOVIE???

Bro, it had SO MANY PLOT TWISTS like I was so shocked. The guy who is implied to be hitting on the guy's wife? Actually a bestie, and he has a girlfriend with no intentions of hitting on his wife. The sad, divorced woman who has a sad life (that a friend of Kevin Hart's character was warning him about, that he'd end up like him if he stayed in his apparently "meager" lifestyle)? Her job as a traffic enforcer of a school is actually just a side gig and she's like an agent of sorts, and she's been happily married for 35 years!

AND LIKE I LOVE THE WHOLE PLOT OF: having a family and raising kids aint that bad, it's just a new life's chapter. And just because you dont go to parties as often as you used to do aint that uncool either. You just got new responsibilities and duties to do, and that's okay! And of course, our actions have consequences, and we gotta be careful with what we do because it will affect the people around us.

Now, there is a few gross jokes but at least they lasted a few seconds and aren't as very extremely explicit as usual comedies in the similar age range. (And I have a pretty low tolerance for that) And it wasn't just full on comedy and stuff with its theming.

And again, I guess it has to do with my background of watching these kinds of comedies like Little Man or some usual Adam Sandler movies, that's why I have a pretty darn soft spot for these kinds of films 😂

of course there's definitely a niche community for this, considering most are into action stuff or horror and fluff comedies have lots of bad reviews who may or may not understand the substance of just pure silliness or ridiculousness that they take everything way too seriously.

I also have a soft spot for this movie and similar ones that are about family, since I'm a pretty family-oriented person more than with friends so far 😂 like plots about family dynamics and parent-to-children bonding moments, even if they're not the main focus/are a subplot, just keeps me happy :))

Sooo that's pretty much it!! dont cancel me for this opinion 😭😭😭😭

I feel like every movie is a piece of art it's just how you see it, many people can say a movie is bad, boring, or too long (All About Lily Chou Chou in this case) but others see it as something they can relate to or its worth the two-hour watch because its ART. Comedy movies are also art. I've seen a few comedy movies and noticed there is always a lesson or theme even though it's funny and thats makes it art. Everything is art no matter what (in my opinion) it's just how your brain sees it

Yesss same here! And like many people say - art is subjective! As long as it isnt genuinely harming anybody and making a controversially hurtful statement, everyone is all for a great time!! And as someone who prioritizes storytelling and characters more than cinematography, yes that too! Cinematography and vfx are just cherries on top. But what matters most is the plot and characters because they separate the good from the truly terrible 💜💜
