dude the song of Achilles is a really good book about Achilles (ofc his name is the title) and Patroclus who r like best friends and go 2 war together and reunite in death its a really good book :3 also the Iliad if u WANNA read a book for 4 months (its really long) and the odessy or dracula (old books in general)

The Secret History is one of my fav books! if psychological thrillers are up your alley you should totally read it. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison is also a really good short story. Penpal by Dathan Auerbach is another favorite of mine. I would say check TWs for all of these though (if you need to).

i might be a bit late to the blog, but depending on what you like, i might have a few recs. these are some of my fav books :P

if ur looking for some lighter reads:
-"the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" by douglas adams:
this is a silly and somewhat comedic scifi book and the first in a series of 5 short-ish books which are just as wonderful as the first one (also theres american covers of these that are so shitty its hilarious, theyre like pngs pasted together)
-"a hundred thousand worlds" by bob proehl:
loved it! absolutely loved it! basically a found family type of concept between people who go from comic convention to comic convention all over america. halfway a bit of a nerd circlejerk (in concept, almost all the main media properties in this book are ficticious) and the other half is just pure roadtripping novel type of chill. (i have to reread this soon omg)

and if ur looking for something heavy:
-"all quiet on the western front" by erich maria remarque:
maybe u recall a movie adaptation of this book came out in '22? idk if the film does it justice, i havent seen it yet. but i have read the book and this novel tells u more abt what it was like to be a soldier in ww1 on an emotional level than any history lesson ever could. to me, this book is special, in a painful and awakening type of way. i dont think ive ever cried so much reading something because it is just so guttural and real. so if ur down for bawling like a baby every 30 pages, be my guest, the book is awesome
