Firstly, hello! This is my first blog post! :D
I've been working on the project on-and-off for over a year, and so far I have developed:
- A map of the entire US, interconnecting major cities (or what remains of them) with interstate highways.
- Lore for what remains of the US, much of which is taken from the games, with gaps filled in with homebrew.(games I took inspiration from, Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3, New Vegas, 4, and a smidge from Brotherhood of Steel)
- The rules, which I am still tweaking and testing with friends. Mostly combat and stat-based gameplay.
- A rough story to lead the players from town to town, where they meet people and complete quests.
- A list of gear, such as armors, weapons, and consumables (and their stats).
- A tailored, Fallout-esque soundtrack to fit the vibe of the campaign.
- A map of Canada, which is still a work in progress, to serve as a sort of expansion unrelated to the campaign.
At some point, I'm hoping to eventually make some sort of animated teaser trailer for the campaign, but I am certainly no animator.
Any advice for someone who is new to being a Game Master and creating a TTRPG from scratch would be welcomed. Thanks! :)
