Do you guys think that everything happens for a reason

I had so many bad things happen to me and always like months or years later I'm kind of happy that it happened because it changed me as a person, obviously, I'm not saying that everything bad has a good outcome but it just makes you think, I feel like I would have been a better person if none of those things happened but since they have, I guess I just had to look into "Everything happens for a reason" for comfort.

I feel like karmic balance is kinda of a thing. Idk. Sometimes I find myself also wondering if fate plays a role in to what happens in life. I still try to piece together why things happen and if there really is some sort of reason or fate as to how stuff happens in life. at least I've recently been trying to get into philosophy, so that might help as to organize my thoughts and more cohesively tie down my thoughts and ideas.

i am quite an absurdist when it comes to my viewpoint on life: i do not think that things happen for a reason, in fact, all the events in our life are random and meaningless. and yet, people still look for a meaning, a code behind it all, despite there being none. however, this seems to be what keeps us going, somewhat. i feel like you just made the best out of your situation and grew as a person based on your own strive to be better, rather than because of the events themselves.

but that's just my two cents. it's interesting how many different philosophies exist on the subject.
