should I get gouache or oil paint?

I was thinking of trying out new painting mediums, but I'm not sure which one to get, I usually paint using watercolors and acrylic, I think both of them would help me recreate my target painting (girl in the pearl earring), I'm more used to watercolor so I think I would do better with gouache.
