I just wrote this little part for book 2 (titled More Than Wolf) and thought I would share it!
“You said that Captain Foster died hundreds of years ago. Well, she didn’t. She’s still alive! I know it!”
“That’s impossible,” Ashka scoffed.
“I saw it. I can feel it.” She looked down at her wrist, delicately removing the bracelet and exposing the underside. An inscription, so faded that it was no wonder she had never noticed it before, stuck out for the first time. “With love, from Henry” it said. A tear rolled down her cheek and she kissed the inscription.
“What is that?” Monai asked peeking over Jule’s shoulder.
“This belonged to her.”
Ashka snatched the bracelet from Jule’s hand to inspect it.
“How did you get this?” her old voice cracked with bewilderment.
“A raven gave it to me.”
