Recipe to celebrate

It has been very long since I have done this writing stuff, and I am probably rusty so bear with me.

Here I present to you one of the topics that I used to cover the most on my old my space and subsequent tumblr: Recipes that I craft myself.

As a picky eater it has always been excruciatingly hard to find good recipes that covers both been delicious and not containing any of the flavors I don't like. This lead to me being and adventurous and avid cook, trying to get the perfect balance and also as a forest spirit and explorer I always had my herbs and flowers with me. (Maybe I should start a new teas collection and upload here a tutorial to take care of the plants)

Tea is an important part of my meals so lets start with that.

Dragons breath

(Gosh, I should change the names of this things)

This is a very spicy tea, refreshing and great to have both cold and hot.

Ingredients

  • Ginger, this will give the spiceeeee. I suggest using about 1/2 a tea spoon, per liter, we only want the tangy flavor, not necessarily for this flavor to overcome the others.
  • Hibiscus, Red like fire and refreshing, get a cup and put it to boil in double the water, after that strain the flowers and keep both them and the water.
  • Orange Peel, Citric flavors because we need to be refreshed. You can take small cuts form the orange, as many as you like and put them to dry on the sun. After about 2 days, they should be dried enough. If not, you could use a microwave or a freezer to dry them.

We need to make our water come to a boil, add the ginger and the Orange peel, let it boil for about 5 minutes, take away from the fire and let it rest, now we mix this concoction with our Hibiscus water. Stir until everything has been mixed.

  • For the Finishing touch, get some Mint leaves, a little stick of cinnamon and a garnish of lemon.

This is gonna create a very strong first note and then make way for the Dragons Breath, the spiciness and the freshness of the citric peel.

Serve it cold or hot as you like.

This was one of my first tea recipes, I must admit that it lacks a bit in flavor depth, but I don't want to change anything as this marks the beginning of my adventurous years and the discovery of who I was.

But do expect more elaborated recipes later, one I review all the ones I had.

Also, keep an eye out for my baking and meal recipes.

The memories come back with my recipes, like the flavors keep my secrets, my feelings, my hopes deep within them. The juniper that once was, and could be once more. May my sis Rachel taste once again this recipes as I repeat them. My special one is gonna love that I'm back again cooking.
