BLOG: Second Semester, Music and Dostoyevsky (08/01/25)

I wanted to write a blog after school yesterday but found myself extremely burnt out and unable to produce anything - I slept for 6 hours instead. First day of classes for the secondary semester was yesterday. My schedule and my professors seem alright. No AP or Honors classes. I'm too much of a slacker for that. I hope that this semester will be tolerable at the very least. My relationship with schooling isn't very pleasurable, but it's something I must endure!

In other news, I cleared all of my likes and follows on Spotify. Deleted almost all of my playlists. I want to do the same with my, albeit very small, CD collection - purging it of stuff I mean. Of course, I won't get rid of everything and I'll assuredly keep more than I will dispose of, but I want to do it nonetheless. I want to discover new music and rediscover old artists I enjoyed as well. I figured this would be the best way. I'm currently listening to a slowcore band titled "Unrecovery" - which has 50k monthly listeners on Spotify. They seem pleasant.

In the reading section of my brain: Dostoevsky's Notes From Underground. I started it after procrastinating since... well, since I bought it. So, a week. I haven't made it very far at all - only having read the first chapter as of writing this. Not even a full 6 pages. It also seems pleasant, though. The writing style is very different to both The Brothers Karamazov and Crime & Punishment (which are the only works of Dostoevsky's I've read so far), but not unwelcome.

I still have very little to write about, for which I regret. I've found that my life is slow and tedious. Uneventful. I would apologize for this, but I doubt anyone will actually read this blog! Either way, I hope everyone is doing well. And is in good spirits.
