Another reason why I should've been a teenager in the 2000s: The N

If you've been living under a rock for all of these years (or simply aren't American or whatever) and have no idea and to what I'm talking about here, The N was basically this cool evening/night programming block on Noggin (which was later rebranded to Nick Jr) for teens that ran from 2002 until the great rebranding of the Nickelodeon channels in September 2009 when it (along with the TEENick block) became the TeenNick channel that we all know about today (although that channel still managed to be pretty epic throughout the 2010s thanks to the fact that it aired reruns of shows like Drake and Josh and Zoey 101 during the day plus its 90s Are All That block at night that was dedicated to airing reruns of classic Nickelodeon shows before it pretty much became "The Henry Danger Network" around 2022 or so, so I guess I still got something as a kid after the great rebrand, I guess).

Getting the season 6 box set of Degrassi: The Next Generation for Christmas (my favorite episode so far is "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost part 2") and seeing some commercial breaks from the block on YouTube really made me think about this and really cemented the fact that I missed out big time as someone who was born in 2006 and was only a toddler at the age of 3 years old when the programming block rebranded in late 2009 (if it wasn't cemented already, of course).

It sucks to think about the fact that I could've grown up watching shows like Degrassi, South of Nowhere, Moesha, Clueless, and more on that block had I been born earlier (as I should've been).

Oh well, at least I got to grow up playing some of the online Flash/Shockwave games from that block like Avatar High, Avatar U, and Samarang (I almost forgot about this one until I played it again recently in Flashpoint and then the memories of 7 1/2 year old me playing it once on the family computer late at night on the weekend came back to me, I knew it looked and felt so familiar to me) via the old TeenNick website. But still, it really would've been a lot cooler if I were born when I should've been in the first half of the 1990s or so and have started coming of age at the right time circa the mid - late 2000s so that I could've had this be a part of my teen experience.

Anyone else they could've spent their teen years watching this radical programming block instead of just wishing they could've and having it almost be like it were some sort of carrot dangling down on a stick like how it is for me, or am I the only one here who resents not having been born earlier in time? I seriously envy everyone who got to spend any their teen years in the 2000s, that's for sure.

Also, here's a series of commercial breaks I found on YouTube from the block circa fall 2008. Even the promos and bumpers look really cool (especially in contrast to promos and bumpers you'll find on any television channel/block nowadays in this stupid decade of total lameness):

Speaking of Degrassi. One of my friends was an extra on Degrassi. She was friends with Aubrey Graham on the show. Her line was I believe "hey bud" or "watch it".

I wish I had been born in 1988. I would have been in the class of 2006 and spend my last full teenage year in 2007. Also, I could've grown up on the Dreamcast, and I've read that Invader Zim mostly appealed to teenagers during its release.
