HELP A BEGGINER PLEASE!!

Okay, so I’ve been thinking of worshipping Hermes for the past few days, but comes in huge problems for me even though I haven’t started.Β

1. My family.Β

My family are Filipino and catholics, or christians to say more. They most definitely will not support my plans anytime soon due to them seeing it as horrible for worshipping another God other than from The Bible.Β

2. Cramped and insufficient space.Β

I stay in an upper bed, just without the lower bed. It’s hard for me the explain, but my bedside is just straight up clunged out in our wall with a ladder for me to always go down to, and metal bars like I’m in prison for me to look out on. I do have two beds, though I use the other one more. Each sides of the bed always have alot of things surrounding them. I can’t put it down either because my family will see it as a waste of space, so I’m really unsure of where to even start an altar for him.Β

3. Financial instability.Β

Our financial status isn’t really good, so I doubt I can buy anything him yet. And if I do try, I have to ask for my moms permission, and for obvious reasons, she will immediately decline, calling it a waste of space AND money. Since I am only 13, she will most likely think it’s just a phase and that I’ll move on quickly from it, so no point in buying anything for him.Β

4. My little brother.Β

My brother (7yro) is REALLY destructive, way too unaware of the things around him that he can cause damage to. So building an altar with him around won’t be any good. We had a really physical fight just last Sunday and I still have bruises from it.Β

I’ll edit this once I cleared my mind and nose, cuz I’m really sick at the moment.

(also, here is a list that I’d like to take reference on for my offerings that I am planning for. Please, do tell me and recommend me items to start with!!)Β

Hello! I am also apart of the hellenic polytheist religion and have been for almost 2 years. Good news, you need litterally nothing to start. Yes, nothing. The gods are super understanding, so they will appreciate anything you can manage to do for them. You absolutely dont have to go above and beyond. Also hermes is a great deity to start off with especially in your situation. Since hes the god of travel one easy and free thing you can do for him as a devotional act is to go on walks. Explore the nature and outside around you. Treat is as a little journey! Also if you want to give him food offerings or libations you can do it outside! Ancient greeks would pour libations on rocks for chthonic gods (which hermes is) and libations doesnt have to be wine it could be something orange juice if you want! Speaking of oranges i often give him those for food offerings. If you have any fruit or anything natural like that (like for example dont leave out oreos on the ground but anything like fruit, veggies, herbs are okay) you could leave a food offering somewhere outside for him. Other things you can do is read up on his mythology a great online source is theoi.com but theres many resources to learn about him you can find. You could also read or sing his hymns as a devotional act. People also often craft things for the gods (if your able to do so). You could always just pray to them too. Another great thing you could do for him is make a travel altar (theres a bunch of tutorials online and fel the blithe has a video on youtube about making one for hermes) people usually use empty altoid tins for them. But any small portable container you have will suffice. And you dont have to but anything new to contruct it. Use what you have. For example hermes is also the god of trade and commerce so a good thing to add will be any coins your have lying around. You can put a mini drawing of a compass to represents travel in there. You could put a small rock you found on the side of the street in there. What ever remind you of him, what ever you have on hand. Also if youre interested in divination to communicate with him theres many accessible and discreet ways to do so. My favorite one is to use dice. If you dont have physical dice you can use a dice generator online just google search it. And you can also use playing cards as a substitute for tarot cards (just search up tutorials and guides). And you could also use any necklace with a pendant or a string of some sort with a object with weight at the end for a makeshift pendulum.
So yeah i hope that info helps
What i mainly do for hermes is just be outside, go on walks, i also really like singing the homeric hymn to hermes by queenie (its on spotify but im sure you can find it on yt too), i ask him alot of questions with dice (which i forgot to mentioned hes associated with so its great to use), ooh that gives me the idea to use coin flips as divination too!(which hes also associated with), and i made him a travel altar i put a prayer to him in there. I often read it to him. And im always reading up on his mythology. But yeah just do whatever you can do, im sure he'll appreciate it! This religion is pretty custom and personal so even if its not traditional if the intent is there im sure itll be appreciated. Im sorry if this reply is like alot i really like this topic :) hope this helps
