1/4/25 First Blog Entry: Hobby: Using My Old Unused RPi 1 model A+ as a game controller

parts list I bought or already had for this project:

- Diodes ($5.99 for 125)

- Resisters ($10 for 1,000)

- MCP23017 expander board ($11.48)

- MCP23017 chips (2 for $8.49 each)

- GPIO wires ($6.98 for 120 wires)

- Hall-Effect PS5 Joysticks ($20 for 6)

- Raspberry Pi 1 model A+ (I know it's super old lol) ($20)

- micro sd ($12 for 2)

- Tactile Push Button ($8.99)

- Adjustable solder kit ($11.69)

- Breadboard 4 piece set ($6.45)

- Prototype board 32 piece set ($9.99)

- SPI 4" Display ($20)

- I still need to prototype a shell for it, when I'm done I'll have it 3d printed somewhere

- If done I'll build another one, but using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W or on the other hand I might migrate the next one to a RPi Pico RP-2350
