Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everything is going well for all of you so far! I’m back yet again with another Late Recs 2O! where I (Vyn) recommend you guys "unpopular bands" from the early 2000’s-2010’s (with the occasional newer bands!)
Just like last time, a Spotify playlist, which contains two songs of each band mentioned, will be linked at the end of this blog in case you want to skip the fun facts and get straight to it! ☆
Late Recs 2O!… start!
☆ Bleed the Dream
A post-hardcore/alternative rock band formed in Spring of 2003 in Los Angeles, CA. Kevin Lyman — creator of Warped Tour — created his own label "Warcon Enterprises" and went on to sign Bleed the Dream, releasing their first full length album "Built By Blood" in May of 2005. In 2007 the band called it quits through a MySpace Bulletin, surprising fans eight years later with an announcement regarding a reunion plus a new EP which they began to work on in 2017.
Fun fact: In 2004 the band’s guitarist, Dave Aguilera, created his own label "Maphia Records" which released two EPs — "Asleep" and "Awake" — by the band. You can currently find all songs included in both EPs HERE
Extra Fact: The band released a DVD called "No Apologies" (watch HERE) using tour footage and BTS fan cameras that were then edited by the band’s former drummer, Scott Gottlieb - may he rest in peace.
☆ A Last Failure
A post-hardcore band formed in 2005 in Palermo, Sicilia, Italy. They release their self titled EP in 2006 (which can be found HERE) and in 2008 they released their second EP "Even Crows Watch Telenovelas"
Fun fact: The band was formerly known as "Fixup" for an unknown period of time. In 2011 they reformed under the name "The Economist" (not the newspaper!) with all of their original members except for guitarist, Pierto Russo.
☆ Death in December
A post-hardcore/alternative rock band from Pocatello, Idaho. They released their first (and only) album "A Beautiful Tragedy" on July, 2006.
Fun fact: They have a single titled "Teenage Heartthrob" (listen HERE) which I can’t seem to find any information on. Interestingly enough, it does have its lyrics on GENIUS.
☆ Signal the Escape
An emo/alt-metal/punk band formed in Spring of 2005 in Connecticut. The band released their debut EP "These Scars Are Just The Beginning" in October of 2007 (which was produced by Matt Squire and Bryan Russell) and eventually went on to release their first full length album "All That You Deserve" only eight months later.
Fun fact: Although I can’t seem to find any information on their current status, the band’s latest release was in 2023 with a 15 Year Anniversary Edition of their first album "All That You Deserve" (listen HERE)
Extra Fact: The band came to be from the ashes of post-hardcore band "Forgive & Forget"

This is a great list!! アイリフドーパ (AILIF DOEPA) is another really good band! They formed in 2010 and are also super underrated! 'New BleeeeeeeD!!!!!' is one of my fav songs from them!! :D

hey, i was gonna comment and bring up bleed the dream cuz it’s one of my absolute fav bands but was pleasantly surprised to see it already here! if that’s one of your recs, i think i trust your taste so i think ill check out the other bands you brought up as well :)
so glad to see another bleed the dream fan out here! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone talk about them since I joined which sucks bc they’re pretty cool !! I hope any of the other three bands r to ur liking :D
