just fell in love with this hypothetical molecule called Cyclic ozone. It showed up on a practice problem on my Ap Classroom for Ap Chemistry.
(I would put a photo here but I cant for some reason... so just search it up :P sry )
I was genuinely so confused when I first saw it, bcs three elements bonded like that feels rly wrong, but now i'm so interested in it.
Recently I started hating chemistry bcs of Ap chem, but somehow this molecule brought back my interest in chem.
Now its time for me to rant abt why im soooooo interested in this molecule.
You would think that an equilateral triangle would be more stable for O3, since equilateral triangles are generally a lot more stable than the 116.8 degrees of normal ozone. But this is looking at it from an engineering point of view and not so much in a chemistry point of view, since that would be a very strained bond.
Also im just guessing, but this element would probably be extremely toxic(even more so than regular Ozone) due to its EXTREMELY unstable bonds
:)
