Ear stretching guide

Heyo, this guide will be about stretching ears the safe way (dead stretching), if you want to avoid tearing your lobes or blowing out your ears this guide is for you :)


Skip first step if your ears are already pierced and placement of your piercing holes is good.


FIRST STEP

Get your ears pierced - find a reputable piercer in your area, tell them that you'll be stretching your ears so they will pierce your ears at right spot (position matters - if it's too low, or too close to your face you might face some problems when stretching above 00g). After getting your ears pierced you need to wait for them to fully heal before you can stretch. It can take up to 6 months or even more, it depends on many factors such as diet, organism, aftercare. During healing period you'll want to use saline saline solution to clean the area twice a day.

STEP TWO

You'll need to get some stuff such as jojoba oil / coconut oil/ avocado oil/ emu oil/ avocado oil, and jewelry - single flare glass plugs (dich your tapers as they can make your piercing hole uneven or they can help you blow your ears out [when you use glass plugs it's easier to tell when your ears are ready to stretch]).

STEP THREE - START STRETCHING

As I said before we'll be using dead stretch method - You'll be massaging your ears at least once a day for 15 minutes in between stretches. When you decide that it's time to size up you'll be inserting single-flare glass plugs into the piercing at a slightly larger size than currently worn. Take a hot shower, massage your ears with one of the oils, and insert bigger plug, if you feel burning, pain, resistance, anything like that it means that your ear is not ready to stretch. If pain occurs and your bigger jewelry is in, take it out and downsize immediately. Don't use double flared plugs as their flares can be wider in diameter than the size you want to use.

Stretching is all about patience, the longer you wait the healthier and better looking your ear will be approximate time needed to wait in-between stretches is around 3 months. REMEMBER some people need less time to stretch some need more, you need to listen to your body, if you feel slight pain or resistance it means that you are not ready to stretch. Also the smaller increase in size the safer stretch will be, consider using 0.5 increments if they are impossible to get for you acquire glass plugs in 1.0mm increments.
