perpetual work in progress

does anyone else feel like everything they make is kind of perpetually a work in progress, and that nothing ever feels finished even when it's good? it kind of occurred to me as i was working on my code here because i like the way my profile looks but i definitely wouldn't say it's done. which is a poor example, of course i'm going to continue updating that. but it made me realize i think that way about most of my art too, and it kind of hinders me from sharing or posting any of it because it's never really done and i don't want it to be seen in a static state that isn't finished. even the things i do post aren't finished. i keep on tweaking them and archiving and reposting and changing things around forever until i forget about them.

Oh yeah definitely... the curse of being an artist. An artwork is endless and leaving it alone is like the hardest thing ever for some reason. Maybe the endless potential is an art of itself? Idk, still trying to figure this one out too.

i hear that ! the best i've been able to do with leaving something alone after it's finished is maybe making cd mixes and that's only because it's already burned at that point maybe i just need it to be more definitively permanent, so less digital art... but even with traditional art i've never been able to just leave it alone - i'll have 60 drafts and never a final.
