Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus

If you're looking for some nasty and doomy riffs, Saint Vitus are one of the best options out there.

This is their first record, released in 1984 but recorded in 1982, and still amongst their better ones.

I love how every songs feel slower and slower until the last one, "Burial At Sea" which has the first half which is slow and heavy while the second half returns to the more "uptempo" vibe of the opener.

Each song is a masterpiece, from the punkish "Saint Vitus" to the obsessive and melancholic "The Psychopath".

Not a single second is wasted, this is pure Doom Metal at its best.
