creepypastas are lowkey dumb but i love them

like i feel like the creepypasta fandom has hyped them up so much and made them their own things that a lot of people forget that the source material is actually hilarious sometimes 😭

like the original jeff the killer story is so funny at parts i SWEARRRR. like the first little bit with the newspaper excerpt interviewing the little boy is so fucking funny like WHAT LITTLE BOY JUST SAYS "Those cold, evil eyes, and that psychotic smile. They will never leave my head" ALL SERIOUS AND SHIT 😭 like yeah i get that jeff nearly killed him but what child is that descriptive

also the parts where jeff gets lit on fire... "His hair singed from brown to black" IT WOULD BURN OFF. BE SO FR RIGHT NOW... and also the whole party scene in general is just absolutely insane because HOW DO THESE 12 Y/O CHILDREN HAVE GUNS... also the scene where liu tries to take the blame for beating up those kids in the first place and the cops just go "looks like a year in juvie!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" like no court case or anything?? ok then

and the OG eyeless jack story is also kinda silly... cuz the doctor just goes "you lost your left kidney last night but we don't know how, sorry!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" or "your brother was killed by something, sorry!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" like... it's like that tiktok where the guy goes "is she gonna live doctor??" and the doctor just goes "prolly not  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

and like the original sonic.exe is also just really goofy i'm sorry 😭 like the mc is so stupid he's like "my best friend's been missing for two weeks and is most likely presumed dead but he sent me this sonic cd, he told me to absolutely NOT play it and to DESTROY it because it's EVIL... let's play!!" like... if my bff was missing and sent me a disc to destroy i think i'd listen!!

also the funny part is that the mods on the creepypasta website thought it was so bad when it first released that they kept having to delete it 😭 they have it up on the site now and it's been there for a while but i KNOW it's just for archival purposes. also the not-so-funny part is that the OG writer is a predator soooo.....

and the original slenderman concept is cool but the slenderman movie absolutely DESTROYED slenderman's reputation... like that movie was so ass 💀 he was barely in the movie and even when he was there he looked so bad... and also the slenderman stabbing didn't help his case (which was absolutely horrible, i'm glad the victim survived and is ok!!)

but the era when the creepypasta fandom was thriving was honestly so fun tbh :) like when people decided that slenderman owned a mansion in the woods where all the creepypastas lived was so silly, like sure it made it a little harder for creepypastas to be taking seriously, (but were they really easy to take seriously in the first place??? -_-) but it was kinda fun :) i thought it was kinda fun to see people make their own mary sue creepypasta OC's to live in the slendermansion just to kiss jeff the killer XD

but also it was kinda weird how they always drew jeff and the other guys as skinny white anime twinks -_- like jeff would NOT like a cute emo boyfriend, realistically his hair would've burnt off of his head.. same with eyeless jack like HE'S A CREATURE!!! IF YOU DON'T LOVE HIM IN HIS ORIGINAL CREATURE FORM DO YOU REALLY LOVE HIM AT ALL???

anyways tldr creepypastas are silly but the fandom was fun, except for when it wasn't but it was still a time to be alive as a child with unrestricted internet access
