The nostalgia museum

Hello everybody

The air is fresh and the sky is on fire. It's that kind of freshness that prickles at your skin and makes you feel like everything is going to be okay (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)

It's been a while since I've had a day out like this. It feels awfully nostalgic. Me and my fiancé ended up going and visiting the local museum. We actually had our very first meeting there - almost eight years ago now. It feels awfully strange since the place has never really changed. All the exhibits stand in the same place, frozen in time but we've changed so much, it almost doesn't feel right. It's like directly stepping into your past, and all the emotions, thoughts, even past interests come flooding back into your brain. It's a nice but somewhat suffocating feeling.

When we first met here he was this punk, with a bright red mohawk, jeans covered in various patches and a jacket filled with spikes. Now he stands with his (what has become) signature flannel and big bushy beard. I on the other hand was once laden with thirteen facial piercings, a septum stretched to an obnoxious degree, and a lip piercing stretched with a similarly obnoxious giant spike. My hair was knotted in black and white dreadlocks with the sides always perfectly shaved down to the bone so you couldn't see that DISGUSTING natural dirty blonde hair I have now ahaha. I remember vowing that I would never dare let colour graze my skin and I would most certainly not ever become ungarish. Well - that didn't last but at least the eyeliner never changed

mummified little crocodile! There's also a real mummy on display in a casket here, but I don't know if that's right to post online? It is a person after all. Sorry little crocodile dude

It actually made me reflect a lot on my life. I became ill a couple years ago and my hair started to fall out so I had to buzz it off hence the natural hair now. And my piercings went with my jobs as a chef. It's been two years since that all happened. Now I work nightshift in retail and I've been lazy with my appearance, always going for comfort above anything else. In the new year, I am so ready to have my comeback though! It feels good being able to say that. I've sleuthed through eBay and found some new clothes and maybe next payday I'll get back my creepers. Oh how I have missed them

This duck is genuinely my favourite thing in the museum. It's supposedly a perfume decanter. I can't tell you how many times I have looked for something like this to buy for myself. Why cant perfume come stored in a pottery duck anymore? Lame!

Another fun fact! This place reminds me of animal crossing hehe! When me and my partner met, he ended up giving me his old ds copy of wild world. I remember telling him how I always wanted to play it as a kid but for some reason I was never allowed (I think the games were probably just a bit too expensive). Anyways, we played that world together on my pink ds that I got all the way back in 2006. Then a couple years ago he bought me a switch with the new animal crossing game. I'll never forget this kind act ♡⸜(ˆᗜˆ˵ )⸝♡

We ended up going to get breakfast in a tea room that we always used to visit. Unfortunately it's been bought over and is called something different now. But to be honest, it is pretty much the exact same. They did get rid of the bean bags though

Since we ended up going on this unintentional nostalgia trip we decided to go on a walk down to this graveyard that my stereotypical butt would always go to. It used to be abandoned, the grass and weeds overtaking everything until nothing was visible. There also used to be rabbits running around. Morbidly, you can imagine what sorts of things where dug up when they were burrowing. I can't see any signs that they are still around unfortunately now this place has been cleaned up       (。◞︿◟。)

The church is running as well now I believe - it used to be an urbex explorers dream, often getting broken into and the bell being rung has a sign of victory

Thanks for coming on this rather personal trip with me. It's new years eve today - lets all reflect on our lives this far and plan for a better, cooler version of ourselves next year
