I said it.
Anyway I had an awesome day at work, something about helping people weave through the bs of our healthcare system feels refreshing. Also it's a real shame that people with disabilities are given the run around on what they're covered for especially their Medicare coverage. This didn't happen today but this lady denied her Medicare part A 3 years ago, but because she was eligible at *some* point, she was being denied financial assistance coverage due to that eligibility status. Through multiple avenues of managers from 2 different places, it was another service rep who said "Oh by the way we have this technicality" that no one mentioned to the member. I had to be real with the lady and told her "Lawyer up, and don't go through the insurance companies claims avenues, they're protecting their best interest, not yours." Like I didn't care at that point, because I was blown away at how that detail was missed and how eligibility for a program that was denied with an effective termination that same year, that she's getting denied assistance that she needs now. Utterly baffling.
