with how overwhelming and ad ridden the general landscape of social media is, it does feel sad to see that this website is so inactive and empty. a lot of the friends i've made here initially are now inactive or got rid of their accounts... it's sad to see :(
especially when it comes to the adult crowd on here. i always see people my age and older talking about how they miss the "old days" of social media and internet when there weren't ads and reels shocked in our faces 24/7, but the site is often empty and new blogs and forum activity is so far and few between.
just wish this site was more active!! especially with how much fun i have doing things like decorating my page or posting bulletins or talking with friends. would be great to meet more folks!

i didnt realize the site was becoming inactive o_0 i'm not sure what it is for others, but for me at least, i feel like it's hard to be super active with the large userbase of ppl aged 13-17... so it's kinda like a cycle of small number of adults -> less activity from adults. nothing wrong with that, just not the age group i am looking to socialize with :p i think lots of people also just don't bother with the forums hahaha. i'm a little bummed about that cuz i love browsing forums.
same with the forums... i love seeing new topics and seeing what people think, but i also think the issue with the forums is that there's no proper reply feature, so you're basically talking into a void with no way to interact with others in the thread to keep the conversation going. hopefully a reply feature for forums happens in the future..!!

that really bothers me too, neopets has the same issue where there's no proper ping, quote, reply, or etc function, not even a way to follow a thread... it is very discouraging ~_~

!!!!!! there definitely needs to be a notif function for new forum posts especially if a rapid fire discussion happens

For me it's bumping... I actually get overwhelmed. Mostly the same 10-ish people posting though. Maybe you need to do a friendslist clean up and add more active people?
I do hope the site STAYS relatively active, though. As much as I'd like to see more adults using the site you've got to admit the kids—with their passion and ample free time—are mainly what is keeping Spacehey alive, and they're not necessarily known for sticking to stuff. Its main userbase seems to have come from the ~Y2K~ nostalgia/idealization trend, and as that wave dies down the site may also start to die... It would suck for the 'myspace revival' to be so short lived. So. Uh. Yeah, in short you do have a point there.

yeah you're right that it's kids keeping it alive, but as someone in their mid 20s i'd prefer to have a lot more active adults? especially since i constantly see adults being nostalgic for the past social media but don't seem to wanna "put their money where their mouth is" when there's an opportunity to enjoy the past (although i'm sure they want a 1:1 of what myspace was) but yeah maybe i just need to dig around more forums and groups to find more folks my age.

I keep saying - consistent activity here begins at around 300 friends.
Let's not forget social media back in the day was primarily for staying up to date with friends when not around one another, we don't get enough users from our IRL circles for it to serve the same purpose. We could use some social games or something but idk if that'd help things on the front of appealig to adults.
that's a good point. i feel like once some big trendy influencer gets a liking to this place that it'll get popular. that's what happened with sites of the past like vine.

I remember when I first joined, I would see more adults here, especially on the browse page, but nowadays I just see minors on there.
same.... i guess the adults got bored and stuck to facebook but for teens they found a community here and have more of a reason to stay. but as an adult i also like the people here and wanna come around more but the site is so inactive :(
