my movie hard drive & other collections

i have an external hard drive (4 TB !!) i got Many years ago because i think my parents got it but then never used it so they let me have it. and ive been using it generally for backing up my old computers and i have all my art and documents and stuff on there. i need to do a lot of sorting through that all, including my pictures and docs files on my active computers now.....

but anyway, ive doubled down on what i was already doing which was making the ext HD into a movie machine anyway - where i have all the tv shows and movies i have files of and ive moved them onto it because those take up soooo much space. but ive doubled down and been moving over files of every movie and tv show i can think of. and its gone from 4TB to 2TB free O_O those things take up so much space! but it makes sense because ive been ripping lots of tv shows to it. i still need to get my disc drive working correctly and rip a bunch of the dvds i have here from my parents of shows that dont exist anywhere like The Good Guys which is SO fun and good but as far as the internets concerned doesnt seem to exist !

it also feels really good to just plug it in and boot up my shows. my own personal netflix, where i actually enjoy all the things available LOL. ive never been a big movie person, so its not as big a chore to rip every movie i like... im better with tv but still not a huge "sit and veg out at the tv" kind of person, so while its taking up a lot of storage its really not that bad either. i also rewatch the same stuff over and over most of the time lol so its awesome

i also have been on my pokemon thing again more recently, with the pocket tcg app the pokemon company has come out with, ive gotten really into it along with my wife and its fun. i searched around a looot too the other week for places that would buy my pokemon commons but Nowhere is having it :| which pisses me off because vintage stock in oklahoma wouldve taken it and the comics store in oklahoma wouldve taken it but illinois is too full of snobs i guess -_- so im thinking ill start selling mini 'boosters' like the poke tcg art blog i follow does, but on my etsy. doubt ill get many orders but if it gets rid of them, it gets rid of them.

i was told "well you could donate them :)" like i mean i guess but im really hurting for money and the whole point was unloading these and getting a few bucks for them. so i need to be making at least a few cents off these, after years of collecting them. its annoying bc if someone asked me irl for some id just be like take em! but i have so many i cant bear to donate them w/o getting some money bc im really in the hole rn with my wifes eviction coming up.

i also need to get sideloading sleeve pages And some new binders for my cards. ive moved now to sorting them by card set, but also im considering dex number bc i heard someone suggest that >_< but i want to get into collecting sets so ill probably keep it as by set.. for now. also its cool to see the style change overtime for the format of the cards. it would be nice to see all the art for one pokemon together, but, meh. i can always resort them one day. thatll be fun.. i really enjoy that a lot genuinely its why i love collecting the cards

also once i get more room and move to the basement i want to go through my collectables box and document my collectors stuff. i have a bunch of pokemon things and hamtaro things too, and i have a lot of my little ponies especially g3 and a bunch of mlp merch too and i want to start being more serious about that too. so i wanna document everything i have so i can know who and what i have and who and what i want :)

in general rn im really stressed out about money, job, insurance, etc. but ive set dates for when ill tackle each thing. rn im in phase one which is writing my fic for this fandom exchange im taking part in, and sorting out the ticket for my wife to visit next year. once new years passes ill be making arrangements to sit down and redo my resume and email HR for my letter for insurance and getting that sorted and only then ill start worrying about job bc thats when ill start applying
