got home from work early! some work stories

busy coding rn but i got home from work early today (have actually been home for a while, just remembered i wanted to post a blog about it haha)

so today was really funny because we had like 2 of everything. two basset hounds, two labradoodles, two shiba inus, and two toy poodles. and a few days ago we had two boston terriers... everything's coming in pairs and most of them dont belong to the same owner which is even funnier!

speaking of the basset hounds, one of them, Belle, is getting really fat. that chunky girl is the friendliest dog on the damn planet though. all she ever wants to do is play or snuggle, she's also surprisingly not very stubborn for a basset, very agreeable. her owners are clearly raising her right. they should probably cut back on the treats though lmao. our other basset though, Fletcher, is the most basset hound of all the basset hounds. she screams at everyone and refuses to listen. EVER. for a dog with such massive ears it's like she can't hear you at all. but she's not deaf, just very, VERY headstrong.

yesterday a silver lab, Rosabell, literally DRAGGED ME across the floor and up the stairs when i was trying to help get her into her kennel. not using "literally" hyperbolically here, i actually mean that she hit the deck and pulled on her leash so hard that i fell over. i got a small scrape on my finger, nothing major, but she's very strong and VERY fast. i literally couldn't control her and was just glad she went the right way.

a few days ago i also got the AMAZING pleasure of dealing with a dog in heat... her legs looked like a damn murder scene. i wonder why her owner won't get her spayed, im suspecting they want to breed her, she's a golden doodle so... that kinda scares me. dont get me wrong, doodles are great dogs, but i think breeding them is highly unethical. i just don't agree with "designer breeds" at all. if you absolutely HAVE to have a doodle please get one from a shelter... its very very rare for doodle breeders to be anything but backyard breeders or puppy mills looking for a quick buck rather than caring for the health of their dogs. sorry to get on my soapbox there. but yeah, dog in heat. fun. very very fun. her kennel definitely needs a deep clean after she goes home.

i think thats all the stories i have right now. i definitely have more interesting ones than these but i cant think of them right now. i'll always be posting more though so if you wanna hear the escapades of me and the dogs stay tuned. cya
