Something cool I realized about horror movies

I learned that usually horror stories are inspired pretty much by the current events happening around the time that it was made in, or at least that plays a big part in it. For example, Godzilla was made in result of Hiroshima, slasher films were popular around the same time when serial killers were on the rise, and more recently, the movie The Substance was inspired by celebrities using things like cosmetic surgeries and Ozempic to appear more "attractive."

Yeah, nothing super groundbreaking and this is probably common knowledge, but I just thought it was something cool I should share.
