Japanese resources

Do you wanna learn Japanese? Well, you've come to the right place my friend. These are all the resources I've used to learn Japanese! Whether you've got a trip in a few months and need to learn quick or just for fun and bragging rights with your friends. You too can learn Japanese! So here are my favorite resources! :)

[Kanji learning resources:]

[Studykanji.net] This is a good kanji learning site. It has a kanji list and a quiz. Not much to say about it.

[Wanikani.com] This is my favorite kanji learning site! It teaches you radicals and vocab with the kanji plus it gives you mnemonics to help you remember the meaning, pronouncation, etc. Overall great source, 10/10.

[Mobile apps:]

[Renshuu] This is a good app for learning kana, kanji, and vocab! It even has games you can play with others that help with learning! There's a question corner you can use to test your Japanese and a dictionary to look up any words you don't know! You have a kao-chan you can level up with your skill and daily challenges.

[Airlearn] If you want a better duolingo than this is the app for you. It has all the features of duolingo but it progresses way better and faster. You get 5 free hearts every day and the more lessons you do, the more rewards you get. (Hearts, streak protects, etc.) Coins can be used to buy more hearts to get higher in the league.

[TEUIDA] This is great for mastering pronouncation. You can only do one lesson per day, so if you like overworking yourself this may not be the choice for you.

[Grammar:]

[Tae Kim's grammar guide] Perfect for grammar. It's basically just a pdf, you make your own flashcards if you want, make notes. There's an app on the play store called "Learn Japanese: Sensei" download that if you want this. (or just get the book lmao)

(Can you tell I'm getting tired?)

[Some other good stuff:]

[TOFUGU.com] This site has a bunch of blogs and resources if you ever need recommendations! My favorite part of the site is the kana quiz. It's good if you struggle with remembering the kana.

[FromZero.com] You need to pay for this one but it's honestly worth it! It has helped me progress better than any of these other resources. It gives you conversation bubbles you can study as well as videos for the lesson. You can also watch the videos on youtube if you're too broke for the subscription.

Now that we have the resources out the way, let me give you some tips.

You should change your app/system language to Japanese. This will allow you to immerse yourself in the language so you don't forget as easily! (Especially useful if you don't live in Japan already.)

Watching Japanese kid's shows can also help such as Peppa Pig, Curious George, and other shows you can find.

I recommend using Study Bunny on the App/Play Store as a fun study timer! It's not mandatory but it gives me more motivation to study. :3

If you have any resources you'd like to share or want me to add let me know! But until then, enjoy these resources!
