How do you get friends on here?

I just joined and I have messed about with the layouts and stuff but I don't really know any good groups or how to get friends, It's obvious that I'm not going to get friend requests immediately but idk what to do on here cause I can't find "good" stuff idk just stuff I like I search up on groups and they have like 5 members. Fore example I searched skating cause yk I want to learn about it on here and most groups had minimal activity. So can anyone help me find good groups or actually do something on the app than just do my layout?
