picture this: you're at ur grandma's house bored out of your mind, so you go hang out in her basement bc why the hell not. while down there you find a box loaded with some old video games and cds that belonged to one of ur cousins or something. along with finding some old ass ps1/ps2 games and a fob cd (from under the cork tree <3), you find a unique looking cd from a band you've never heard of. you listen to the cd and it fuckin slaps, but when you look them up online you can't find anything other than a defunct website from '04 and a listing of the cd for sale on some random ass foreign website.
so, what do you do with this information? well, after ranting about it to ur discord friends, you figure out how to rip a cd, make an internet archive acct, and post the tracks along with some pics of the cd case. does it go viral? no, but at least you introduced a couple randos online to a band that would probably be lost forever.
that was story was what happened to me a few months ago when i found a cd by the band almost heroes, a four piece band from northwestern georgia (the us state not the country) who made one e.p. and dipped.
after posting the tracks on internet archive, i also found a blog page that i'm 90% sure belongs to the lead singer/bass guitarist of the band. he's from the same area the band originated and has the same name. i tried reaching out to him via email to ask him about the band, how it started, etc. but i never heard back.
i'll leave a link to the album here. it's a pretty fun listen, i luv the y2k nu-metal vibes. it kinda sounds like smthn that would be on the sonic the hedgehog soundtrack. i like it and i think y'all will too :)
