music blog ep. 2: I AM MUSIC situation

as you probably know, today is the 27th of December, and its a Friday. Friday 27th December 2024, aka, the last Friday of 2024.

today was the last Friday of the year, which also marks the last reasonable day of the year for carti to actually drop his first album since 2020. as carti fans probably already know, the man is kind of infamous when talking reliability: he already faked two rollouts, the most recent one lasting almost a whole year starting in December 2023. at this point, his fans are reasonably upset and the r/playboicarti subreddit is flooded with angry people trying to conceive a way to get back at him. whether by unfollowing his accounts on instagram, not streaming his songs on streaming platforms or by straight up doxxing him (yes, his address is leaked and people are sending stuff to his door), everyone seems unwilling to forgive him again.

in spite of the threat that fans who know where he live pose, the thing that's more at risk is his career: the Atlanta artist, indeed, created an enormous amount of hype around his (maybe) upcoming album, making meeting expectations so high a real hard task. even if he really is, using the words of the people close to him, "perfecting the sound" of his album, I believe that whatever he actually releases won't ever be enough to satisfy fans who went through 4 whole years of lies and deceiving. playboi carti seems to me to be stuck between a rock and a hard place: if he doesn't drop, people will eventually forget him (if his fans don't eat him alive first), if he does, I AM MUSIC will probably be perceived badly and thought of as "not worth the wait"

finally, I think that after this treatment, we should arrange some kind of (pacific) retaliation to his actions. what do you think? lmk!
