lately, I found myself thinking about the all-out feud between baggy pants enjoyers and skinny stuff warriors. in this entry I want to try and give an opinion about it, not only bound to bottom garments.Β
I feel like during our period of time, since the start of the "roaring 20s", people started actually understanding proportions and the basics of fashion rather than just following trends (even tho trend hoppers are, unluckily, still a very common thing). this is leading to the transition from skinny bottoms and baggy tops to the exact opposite: a baggy pant under a tight shirt can really create a nice-looking silhouette on almost everyone. even tho I still appreciate baggy bottoms and baggy tops together (if you can pull it off), what I really can't stand is seeing people wearing skin-tight jeans (Katy Perry reference intended) under big ass shirts. that stuff looks really goofy to me, especiallyΒ if you have particularly skinny legs. do yourself a favor and learn how to enhance your body thru fashion, and I say this as a heartfelt advice.
however skinny pants are not always all bad. I feel like skinny jeans can sometimes look good on girls, as they have better base proportions (generally bigger legs and shorter bodies) when compared to males (usually skinnier legs and taller bodies) that make them able to pull that off. anyway, I really think it heavily depends on the type of outfit you're putting together with them.
i want to close this entry begging for males not to wear skinny jeans in combo with chunky shoes and big shirts or hoodies. please. they make your legs look even skinnier than they already are. please switch to a regular or straight fit AT LEAST.Β
P.S. please don't take anything I just said too seriously. my opinions don't matter in the grand scheme of things and should not matter regarding what you like to wear. wear whatever you like or matches your body type.
