some days i get in such a flow state that i lose track of time. thankfully this happened today and i made a lot of progress!

so the first thing i did was figure out how rss feeds work so i can connect this blog to my future layout. i used this tutorial to understand how it works. then i found a really simple embed reader than i can customize. when i first went looking for this it kept giving me paid, corporate looking widgets that i did not fw. so im glad i found this on the stack exchange. and it actually fucking worked yay. but it only works online so it doesnt show when im editing in notepad++

heres the prototype of the styling

i used a png for the background so the opacity for that is changed now for visibility lol

then i just inserted the webrings from my current website into the sidebar. I had to get the vertical version of the self insert webring and for some reason it wasnt floating right but i fixed it

i also tried to add scanlines to a section of the page but it didnt work so i gave up coding for today

it doesnt look like much right now but the progress ive made in the last week alone is amazing. ive come a long way.

before i started this blog i was really stuck on this layout. the colors and vibes werent matching what i envisioned in my head. but thankfully i let go of my perfectionism and moved on. i wont try to drastically change the colors again until im completely done with everything else!
