There's another thing I want to talk about that's happening in this fandom and it's infuriating and insufferable. (Big words 😋)
It's about the belief of the fact that creepypasta "are" real. While I know they are not some people do believe they are, and most of the time it's children who do believe. If you do believe that they are real personally I don't see any problem, it's your own life you believe in whatever you want. I'm not condoning in this belief but if that's what you want to do, then go for it. Who am I to disagree? But that's not what I wanna talk about, what I want to talk about is the fact that people are bullying literal children who believe in them. Like bby you used to do the same, you're no better.
Of course they will believe slender man is real like they're 6-12 😭🙏Give these kids a damn break.
And also there is no reason to bully those at a bigger age who still believe in slendeman, how does that affect you??? 😭

And I hate every fan fiction that has Ben. Like the way media represents him is so AJJWJEIDJEJDJWI RHAHHHHH. You get me?
Like there's no way Ben is a smoker and weed addict. The only thing he is, is DUMB AND DEAD, LITERALLY.
ALSO THE SHIPS OMFG THE SHIPS I HATE EM I HATE THOSE FUCKING THINGS. "Ben x Jeff" "Ben x Sally" "Ben x silver"(I think this one is the least problematic, idk that much about lost silver) are insane. Jeff is 20+ and Sally is younger + died in a different time line than Ben so there would be an immense age gap.
Also I hate the tropes sm. " yandere! Ben" "stoner! Ben" "stalker! Ben" suicidal! Silas at this point.
I also hate the "Ben drowned but older" thing as an excuse to make romantic fanfics. You have so many characters and you decided on him bffr 😭🙏

"Hahah Jimmy you still believe in the white faceless man!!" a boy, the same age as Jimmy said. He must have felt special, as if he made the world a better place, but he didn't. He just dropped another nonsensical statement onto this world.
Okay, jokes aside. I don't care if others believe or don't believe in it and I don't see why there would be a valid reason to bully them especially because it literally, as you said, does NOT affect them personally.
Now that you mentioned Ben Drowned... I can't express how much I despise how people get turned on by him. I personally don't get how people even feel attraction towards creepypasta characters and much less how they feel attracted to literal minors and I feel like Ben is the biggest victim from all the creepypasta characters because there's so much questionable fanart, videos, animations and fanfiction including him in a weird manner.
Not to mention the headcanons, a few weeks ago I saw an "x reader" fanfiction where he was a submissive femboy or something? Apparently it also contained the use of substances, or well, that's what the tag said.
There's plenty of those, another example is that Sally's response to what happened to her is that she wanted it to happen again and she was begging Ben to do it... errr I won't get much more into detail, thank you, Pinterest headcanons.
The tropes just take away the entire characters personality and the "[...] but older!" ANNOYS me so much, just take a character of the fitting age or something?? Ughhh why would you even write smut of a horror character...?

About the slender man belief. I think people bully others for believing in slender man because they think you're too grown for this such a thing. They see it as a story tale like Santa Claus. While it IS a story tale, most people believe in it because it's different. It brings you the horrors when you first hear of it. A mysterious lanky figure with no face and tentacles kidnaps people and kills them while lurking in the shadows, who wouldn't be scared of that. It isn't like Santa Claus or the fairytooth, that's why most people believe in him. Most of them are children, because kids fall for these things way more commonly than teenagers let alone adults.
It doesn't affect anyone if you thinks it's true or not, the world doesn't change and your bullying won't stop the belief of slender man. It will just bring possible trauma to the poor victim.
I really never understood being TURNED ON by a creepypasta character. I get having a crush on it, especially as a child because you don't realise it's not real. But like once you grow up I think you have the mental capacity to realise that fact. Having a crush isn't a problem, the problem is how you handle it. If you write fanfics that are appropriate then it's alright. The moment it starts being somewhat problematic, that's when you should stop. I get NSFW isn't a thing I can stop, it's there in every fandom and if it isnt problematic then there isn't anything I can do but what I think should be stopped is like you said, nsfw of a minor. It is gross, it is inappropriate and again, it's fucking gross.
Doesn't matter if it's fictional, fiction affects reality. It's gross in fiction, it's gross in reality.
Like you said. Many creepypastas are victims to this, especially Sally and Ben drowned. The way they're both children but the fandom ignores that so much, some people don't even know they're children. Sally is 8 cannonicaly while Ben is 12.
Every fanfic that includes them is nsfw. Like. I think I only saw like 3-4 where they acknowledge Ben and Sally being children and that's all. 3-4.
The mischaracterization irritates me so much, this is why so many people don't actually know the characters themselves. They think whatever they heard is cannon and don't fact check and then they spread the mischaracterization forward to others. This is why the fandom is falling appart. Unable to contain traditions [ fanfics, cosplays, mmds, etc], unable to be a safe space for others, unable to respect boundaries and get the correct informations and unable to acknowledge children characters and unknown characters.
There are so many unknown characters and it's so sad to see, like someone spent time on writing the story, the clothes, the page and nobody says anything about this creepypasta. It's sad to see someone's work go to waste. I get liking the popular ones but let's take a look at the ones who live in the shadows too.

The nsfw isn't that bad. I don't interact with it but if the character is an adult then ig it's alright, I can't stop you.
If the character is a minor, then you have a fucking problem mentally and should seek help.
