With the huge surge in online aesthetics and fashion trends just taking over the internet, it started to make me think back and reflect on my own personal style.
I live in a place that doesn't have the best places to buy the clothes you want, and thrifting isn't really a fun activity to go off on here since the best you'll get is good Sammies, the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. So in saying that, I don't have that many clothes, jewellery or anything to go off of! It's very basic and even then it's not enough to style myself as nice as I want.
The main point I was trying to get at though, is that whenever I see a new fashion subculture or outfit from another 'aesthetic' I always feel guilty for actually wanting to wear that kind of stuff. I know that usually when you find an aesthetic you're meant to stay there and not change or go into anything different in fear of being a poser. But I don't think of myself as a poser or even just 'trend hopping'. I genuinely just want to dress myself in multiple outfits that derive from various different subcultures!
For some reason, saying you wanna do that feels controversial..like I'm gonna be skewered by proper fashion guru's on here..but I rlly wanna know if anyone has ever felt like this before??
Like--does anyone else just want to dress in full gothic lolita dresses an skirts but then change into something more comfy and cozy with a nice green cardigan and big ol' flowing dress?
