mementos

yknow when i go out places w friends and i end up with a physical artifact from it, i like to keep it as a way to remember that time i had with them. it makes my room look like a mess but what can i say. to me they're like physical evidence of all the good times i had.

i still have the bottle of pepsi from the tax collectors office the day i passed my drivers license test. the wristband from my friend's birthday party sits on my shelf alongside the receipt from the rollerskating joint and the can of monster i got. i even still have the empty cup of lemonade from when i went to the mall with my friends after PSATs. and while the sandwich is long gone, i still have the receipt for it from when me and my friends went to wawa after my first homecoming.

i wouldn't take them to my college dorm, but i think i would cry if i came back home and found that they'd all been thrown out.
