Things to do when you're bored
Like many others, I'm on the winter break and therefore have nothing better do to! Here's a list of thing's to do during this holiday..
1) Create a playlist for different days:
You can create a playlist for different days such as rainy days or days where you feel energetic. Or a winter/Christmas themed one for December.
2) Create a new oc and give them an interesting background story:
What do they look like? Are they a human or a mythical creature? What's their personality and flaws like? Draw them!!!
3) Discover different YouTube channels:
Go onto YouTube and search a topic you like then scroll through some of the channels! When Im looking for some channels I don't normally watch ill search for videos uploaded today, this normally gives me some nice small channels.
( I recommend Sophie May if you like daily vlogs, she's really down to earth )
4) Write a list of your favourite shows/movies and rank them:
You can use notes or a bit of paper. I sometimes struggle to remember some of my faves so i'll go onto Netflix or Disney + and see what iv'e watched in the past. You can also just google " popular movies " and pick some from them.
5) Write a schedule for tomorrow:
Wanting to feel prepared for tomorrow and maximise your time? Write a schedule of things you want/need to do tomorrow e.g Cleaning, exercise. You can make it a to-do list or an hour by hour schedule, however you like.
6) Ask someone to recommend you a show and actually watch it:
Am I the only one guilty for not watching stuff I'm recommended? Well, this is your chance to watch that one movie or show a friend recommended.
7) Listen to a podcast and go for a 15min walk:
Go outside and get some vitamin D ( you need it! ) whilst listening to a podcast. Of course this doesn't have to be 15 mins, can be as long as you like. There are hundreds of podcasts you can listen to on Spotify. Find something that interests you. This could be true crime or some inspirational podcasts. I heavily recommend Rob Dial, his podcasts are short, sweet and motivating.
8) Have a warm drink, put on comfy clothes and read a book:
Make a warm drink such as hot chocolate or tea, put on some comfy clothes and choose a book you would like to read. If you don't own any, you can buy one to read online. You can also set a timer then take breaks whilst reading
9) Learn about a new subject:
Go online and find a new subject you wouldn't normally think of looking into. This could be something like ancient Egypt to how dogs were first domesticated. Maybe write down some interesting facts you've learned and share them.
10) Re-play your favourite childhood games:
Play some games you loved to play as a kid. This could be Club Penguin, Bin Wheevils, Moshi Monsters ( the re-uploads ) or some random game only you seem to remember
11) Sit and do nothing:
Sit and be alone with your thoughts, allow yourself to be bored. Im sure plenty of inventions and artwork was thought up through boredom. What else did people do before phones? You'll eventually become bored of being bored and do something.
12) Visit your local library:
Walk to your local library and read some books. You can also bring your own book and use the library as a quiet space to indulge in a good book. You can draw or study too if you like ( if theres tables of course ) .
13) Write your goals for 2025:
Its crazy 2025 is right around the corner. Why not get one step ahead and plan out your goals. You can write big ones as a heading and write little goals underneath that you can do to achieve the big goals. I also recommend going onto YouTube and look for some inspiration if you cant think of any 2025 goals.
14) Make an online penpal:
There is an app called " Slowly: Make Global Friends " which, as the title says, you can make friends across the world! It work's a bit like real life and your mailing time will depend on how far away the distance is between you and your friend. You can collect stamps from different countries and meet people who share the same interests as you!
