MOGAI, microlabels, and my interest in them

ive always been something of a social justice warrior even as a dumb, isolated kid. my mom is pagan and raised me with her witch-y things and encouraged me to look into other identities and cultures that i would find myself in.

probably one of the very few GOOD things she did for me lol...

with that and my unfettered internet access, i was very interested and somewhat involved in early tumblr and facebook MOGAI spaces! because of my constant exposure to this community, as well as the disabilities and mental illnesses that encompass the loudest experiences, i have luckily watched people go from openly ostracizing and demonizing these folx to finally understanding what it was all for... an example is lily alexandre's video on MOGAI, which you can find on youtube. it was the beginning of a new wave of acceptance.

unfortunately, someone ruined my furry experience by accusing me of being an animal abuser earlier this year because i said i identify as a cat, thusly running me out of the fandom spaces for good. only now at the bare end of the year, do these same people come out as supposedly 'supportive' of therian identities.

aside from the ableism i was constantly facing, i do miss the community and the interactions i got out of it. i lost my only commission base outside of IRL friends... it was very hard and ive found myself not participating in ANY of my interests, though not intentionally. i used facebook the most the last 10 years and it is literally unusable at this point lol. i sit on here hoping to find people with my interests and have been disappointed haha... i know a lot of what i like is niche but i didnt think being an adult with these interests would be so isolating TwT plenty of under 18s with common interests but i very much dont like interacting with minors, out of my own paranoia and actions as a minor in adult spaces. 

the point of this bulletin was to talk about how i finally got to infodump a little on animal identities!!! it was very short but considering i never talk to other otherkins, or furries since several months ago, i got to explain the difference between therian and otherkin labels =^w^= 

if you ever want a gen-z purrrspective on microlabels/identities as well as navigating cluster b disordered spaces, i love talking about those things!!!! ive been in some form of psychosocial therapy since i was 4 years old and have a ton of experience and professional training on my belt 🤓 i also just love learning about other peoples experiences in their life, since i am a very isolated person, i love taking any opportunity to learn new perspectives from others and expand my mind!!!
