Christmas Break at work Sucks

Anytime I have a break at work coming up, I do my best to stack up on hours (not take any days off, work bday parties, cover shifts, etc.) because as soon as break starts, im so bored from having nothing to do that i do my favorite thing. shop. I shop as if i have another paycheck coming in but then i have to wait a whole 4 extra weeks (im paied bi-weekly) just for my same old minimum wage part time money to come in. Not to mention I absolutely love my job and don't like not being there for more than half a week. 

Anyone else feel me on this or am I just whiney?
