In my honest opinion and belief, Luigi will and always will be the better Mario brother. Not just because he is more funny or that he is overlooked; But because there is logical reasons for him being superior despite being the youngest and less popular of the Mario Bros. Despite his brother’s popularity and more heroic qualities, I know in my heart that Luigi Mario (yes, his last name is Mario.) deserves better than what he has been given by the world in terms of popularity.
a lot of people see Luigi Mario as the type of guy to run and hide at any sort of turn. He is characterized to be a coward. now I’m not saying that this is wrong in any sort of sense, I’m just saying that its right.. but in a funny way. Luigi, despite being a coward and slight anxious at times (me too, bro). He still finds a way to push through and battle his own fears to do what he needs too. I also saw in a Tumblr post one time that made a great point on this. Luigi is brave in very a strange way: he fears everything to an equal point. He has the same reaction of uncertainty from a spider to a kidnapping tyrant. Do you know what type of balls you have to have to fear everything AT THE EXACT SAME LEVEL? Sure Mario is brave, but Luigi is cautious and able to push through that!
Luigi is also just underrated, even in games by npcs. In the game, superstar Saga for the gameboy advance, he is almost never referred to by his name. At most, he is referred to the green one and even called a Mario look-alike from another npc. Even though Luigi can jump higher, Mario is somehow still known for his jumping. This leads me to believe that Mario is actually the one overshadowing his brother; whether that be accidentally or not.
Now the fun part, fun facts: luigi canonically had a crush on a prince in superstar Saga! We love our Bi-con.
Thank you for listening to me yap about luigi for no good reason. Call me crazy later, syna out.
