cosplay

ever since i was into fandom spaces i admired cosplayers so much ...... i was soooo jealous of them and always wanted to cosplay myself :sob: it was even worse when i got more active on tiktok and cosplaying had a huge boom bc i was like waaaaaaaaa i need to be an adult NOW!!!

fast forward a little, im 17 now and finally living my cosplay dreams and it makes me so happy i cant even describe!!! i try to stay on a strict budget when cosplaying so a lot of my cosplays so far are diy'd or bought secondhand but i think theres zero shame in that. cosplay doesnt need to be super expensive and elaborate!! and i personally think its really fun to put together cosplays with stuff you just have lying around. i recently cosplayed futaba (p5) and the only thing i actually bought for it was the wig!

i also love being able to meet new people via cosplaying. i was pretty nervous at my first con and was cosplaying someone i was sure wouldnt really be recognized (i was at a comic con and was amane momose) but i had someone recognize me when i was barely in the building and they were so sweet it totally made my day. at the con i went to after i saw someone cosplaying an evillious character and they were sooo happy when i recognized them!! it reminded me of when someone noticed i was amane at the previous con and i was really glad i could maybe make someone feel the same way i did (pleading)

im not really sure where im going with this but im just very happy i can join the cosplay community. im really excited to meet new people and learn new skills <3 im not sure if ill post photos of myself on spacehey, but i might link my cosplay tiktok in the near future when i get more comfortable... who knows 

and the obligatory reminder that cosplay is for everybody!! this isnt a safe space for people who only support white skinny cosplayers. you fucking suck and are close minded if thats your way of thinking
