#1 Late Recs 2O! | 2000’s Bands Recs

Welcome to Late Recs 2O! Where I (Vyn) recommend 2000’s-2010’s "unpopular" bands once every two weeks (with occasional recommendations of newer bands)

Late Recs 2O!… start! 

☆ A Heartwell Ending 

An emo band formed in Fall of 2003 in Long Beach, CA. They signed to Mediaskare — a small label at the time — in 2005 before finally releasing their debut (and only) album "Trust Us, We lie" in the Summer of 2006.

☆ A Thorn For Every Heart 

A post-hardcore/emo/alternative band formed in Summer of 2003 in Chino Hills, CA. By the end of the year, they released their self recorded EP "Silence is Golden". The band signed to Kickball Records in Spring of 2004 and released their debut album "Things Aren’t So Beautiful Now" in Fall of that same year. They currently seem to have plans for a reunion in 2025.

Fun fact: Their follow-up album "It’s Hard To Move You” (which they worked on with producer Matt Squire and member of Blink-182, Mark Hoppus) was continuously delayed and finally shelved in 2007. Luckily for us it was eventually leaked and can currently be found HERE

☆ Not For Now 

Considered a rock/pop-punk band, Not For Now released their full album "Hate Destroys Reason" in 2004. They went on to release their second (and last) album "Your Only Forgotten Funeral" in May of 2005. 

Fun fact: "Hate Destroys Reason" can be found HERE (although three of the tracks are, as far as I know, currently missing) 

☆ GunsLikeGirls

A post-hardcore band formed in February of 2005 in Bergen County, NJ. The band went on to release that same year their EP "…Then We Burnt The Village." In January of 2006 they self-released their EP "The Octopus in the Igloo" before finally splitting up in 2007. 

Fun fact: They were formerly known as "Emma" when they released "…Then We Burnt The Village"  — which can be listened to on HERE — but had to change their name due to copyright issues with Baby Spice; who is also named "Emma" and had released an album with that very same name around the same time as GunsLikeGirls.

☆ I’m mostly doing this for personal entertainment, but it’d be nice if other people could also enjoy some of the bands I really love so I hope you guys end up liking any of them :)
