HI this is me feeding into my delusions while also occupying myself for the next season of daryl dixon even tho we’re all probly going to have to wait until next SUMMER its okay, live laugh caryl
cautionary reminder …! this is slightly shitpost, a sprinkle of half-serious or fully serious contemplation, and mostly just my personal theories (and prayers) that maybe caryl will be pursued ??!?!? by next season ??even though Zabel is so against caryl for some super strange reason; we all know why. AND daryl was lowkey being an asshole during season 2 as well buttttttt maybe he’s disoriented LOL
OKAY starting off… :
1. with the most obvious speculation of mine, during season2 episode 4 when daryl & carol are camping out with theo & didi, there's a part mid episode where carol is cutting up veggies with didi, and she brings up the topic of laurent and love to carol.
didi: "And the way he talked about the two of you.
Hm. Sometimes children see things we're afraid to look at."
carol: "Why do I get the feeling you're trying to tell me something?"
didi: "Laurent thinks that Daryl loves you but won't say it because if he says it, he won't be able to leave."
GODD ARE WE SERIOUS.... zabel might be against the idea of caryl, but this part is so undeniably hinting towards Something. first off, it's well known that in the last episode of twd, on season 12 daryl, for the first time says "i love you" to another woman who is carol. that's objectively platonic (us caryl shippers delude ourselves otherwise) but I have a feeling that this fact has been established considering it's the last scene on the LAST walking dead episode, there was no reason to reinstate the idea that daryl loves carol without trying to push a further agenda that may be more platonic. caryl, as a relationship, bypasses the idea of romantic love--in that their relationship doesn't have a label and doesn't need one because of how strong their relationship is. i remember briefly when norman reedus mentioning the concept of this in an earlier interview, albeit i feel like the boundaries of this barrier might be broken a little because tboc/season 2 of DD was an intro to the idea of facing problems that carol, and even daryl have both pushed back into the deepest pits of their mind, but is now starting to bother them again, in which they must conquer, like with carol and the death of sophia.
didi: "I know how rare love is."
this reallllyy nailed it in. this obviously is didi trying to communicate to carol that what she means is Pure love, whether it be romantic, or anything more. back to when didi mentions that laurent thinks daryl won't be able to leave carol if he says that he loved her, i think this is revisiting what happened to isabelle. isabelle and daryl kissed, sure, but he never said "i love you" to her, or at least it was never implied since it wasn't shown on screen, yet he lost her and he was barely able to leave. i mean, come on, he just NEARLY considered staying in france longer for her and laurent just because of this growing affection. with carol, i think, what laurent thinks, is that if he was like that with carol (which he probably isn't allowing himself to be, because him and carol is a Very big deal) it would be even harder for him to move on, if anything were ever to happen to carol, but i could ramble on and on....
how i think this will wrap back into season 3? simply they will start to explore more into how daryl/carol feels for one another. they're both now trapped in spain together, and they ONLY have each other, and there's this one scene i am totally gonna dive deeper into right after this during the season 3 trailer, but i think carol and daryl have gotten much closer. do i think they're gonna kiss? that's too much for zabel... if we didn't have zabel, TOTALLY, but he is lowkey rotting norman's brain (i'm joking here kinda), but i definitely think SOMETHING will happen. whatever happens im eating it up.
2. LET ME COOK UP A STORM WITH THE SEASON 3 TRAILER AHHH okay ok; in the season 3 trailer of daryl dixon, there is a scene right near the end where daryl and carol are sitting in front of a fire place, seemingly with an injured carol (which is something we don't see a lot?? this might be a tense scene).
the only quotes that can't be plausibly seen here:
carol: "You and me both."
call me insane, but the shoulder slip carol is showing here could give anyone a lesbian awakening--in all seriousness though as serious this slightly more unserious excerpt is, this scene is so intimate?? caryl has had their fair share of intimate scenes; their reunion scenes, s5 ep6, when carol is cutting daryl's hair in front of the fire place in twd, they have a LOT, but by far just from a 2 second slip in the trailer, this scene seems to be so intimate and close like the hair-cutting scene. i definitely think barriers have been broken here. maybe daryl stops being nonchalant (lowkey)? i'm kidding. perhaps daryl has a revelation, maybe carol too, that they both feel something deeper. that's just my speculation though. admittedly there is not much context to this scene. let's hope i'm right!
by the way i just want to point out how beautiful melissa mcbride is :( she is so gorgeous idk if daryl doesn't want her i will take her gladly UGH
also,
this isn't real :(( it's an edit but it's a manifestation 🤞
