Why do so many people dislike country music?

I don’t listen to a lot of country music, but I think a lot of people hate it bc of the more mainstream songs like the bar song, a song that isn’t entirely country but uses a lot of elements from it and since people only hear that type of country song they just judge the whole genre on that and see it as a genre not worth exploring further. Which is kind of unfair.

ignorance. people would rather judge an entire, very complex and relatively old genre with roots in black culture, based on a comparatively small group of post-9/11 nationalistic country music

i love country and it annoys me to no end when people who havent taken the time to actually explore the genre (beyond the top 40 radio shit) say its all the same

johnny cash, willie nelson, waylon jennings, giovannie and the hired guns, darius rucker, diamond rio, shania twain, jimmy buffett, colter wall, credence clearwater revival, dobie gray, dwight yoakam, tom petty, faith hill, jo dee messina, john michael montgomery, uncle kracker, travis tritt...

and even artists that have released some of that post-9/11 garbage have great older tracks. tim mcgraw, alan jackson, brooks & dunn, garth brooks, like youre telling me "friends in low places" comes on and you think thats GARBAGE? you think tim mcgraw's "just to see you smile" is shallow?! youre not down with "before he cheats" by carrie underwood or "drift away" by dobie gray?!?! you dont want to be propped up beside the jukebox when you die, joe diffie style?!?! youre not sometimes falling, desperately calling, howling at the moon, AWOOOOOOO, like travis tritt in "it's a great day to be alive" !!!!??????

i mean like honestly in my opinion most of it sucks but some of it actually slaps
i listen to country on youtube sometimes (mostly instrumentals as a techno person) and i do like it obviously but when i hear the genre come on the radio (who usually plays pop/trending music) it really really sucks

i guess the radio country music is what most people think of country :p
