Wonder why I've not been as active in my group? First of, thanks for thinking of me. Alright, let me explain:
I'm currently going through 'the press on'. By that, I mean I'm trying to press on with the writing although I'm depressed, which right now is revising the 1st act. I do this by taking "smaller bites" at a time so I won't get overwhelmed with fatigue.
Another trick I like to keep in mind is that 'motivation comes from doing', so regardless of how much motivation I may have at the moment, just taking the time to sit down and at least try to work gets me into the flow.
The last thing I'd add is that in order to get work done I need to increase convenience. This means doing what I can to give myself an easier time, like maybe not cook the most intricate meals, or try to care for others before I've taken care of myself, etc..
Coping-strategies(summarized):
- Take frequent breaks
- Get motivated by doing
- Increase convenience
To reader: Are you a writer with depression too? How do you cope? Let me know in the comments.
