college game dev

guess i can just yap on here, huh?

coupla weeks ago at college on my game development course the class was tasked individually with making a rudimentary platformer game in this online game engine called construct 3. it was pretty easy because the game engine really requires no programming knowledge so you can literally make a game in a couple of minutes but over the course of a couple of weeks we were supposed to polish it and make it look real good.

i did it in about a day and did my write-up about how i did it and exactly what i used in terms of assets and music and mechanics, whatever. essentially im about a month ahead of all of my work and i now have a whole lot of free time to do whatever. 

my teacher in class saw that i had finished everything and me and him have just been doing networking while the rest of the class makes their games. the other day he gave me a kali linux virtual machine and told me to try hacking into a dummy network he set up. obviously i couldnt do it bc i have no hacking knowledge but he said he was impressed anyway. 

later that day he told me about this online course thing that explains a bunch of networking stuff; the exact kind of thing im interested in. i signed up for it and im progressing through it quickly. its like a 70 hour course and at the end of it you get some sort of an "industry recognized qualification" idk i guess its good for a CV or a resume or something. 

anyway thats what ive been doing and probably what im gonna be doing for the next coupla weeks. im also gonna do a bunch more courses from the same site. i found one about python so thats probably my next one. anyway, if you read that wall of text, i hope you have a fantastic day.
