I cannot believe fall semester of my junior year is over! I remember being so hopeful at the beginning and completely and utterly burnt out at the end. Letting a brand new "situationship" into my life 2 weeks before finals didn't help either. All the time I spent thinking about that boy would have been better spent studying! That's hard to admit, but it's the cold hard truth. But honestly another large part of why I was so burnt out and unmotivated was because of an evil voice in the back of my mind telling me that no matter how hard I studied, I was going to fail anyway. Now I have no clue if that evil voice was right (cause I'm avoiding looking at my grades), but she definitely did a number on me anyways. Thankfully, that's all in the past and I'm heading into spring semester with a clear, smart, disciplined brain in my pretty head!
Now, I'm spending much needed time at home during winter break. I have a lot of expectations for this break. Of course working out and eating healthy, yada yada. I also plan to apply for some internships (hoping and praying my professors didn't forget about my rec letters!!), drive more (anxiety, stop!!), and sell half my closet (@tawa871 on mercari ;)).
My wardrobe desperately needs a revamp, but I'm not sure what I want my style to learn towards. I have always been into y2k fashion, but there are hundreds of different styles encased in that era. I know I don't have to limit myself, but I'm not a very creative person so having inspo is a must. I've been obsessed with watching The Girls Next Door recently and their fashion has totally inspired me. I think I want to lean more towards girly glam looks like Holly Madison. I love how whether she's dressed up or down, she still makes herself look so put together. I like Kendra's looks as well, she has such an edgy tough. Of course, I can't forget about Bridget, even though her style is out of my lane overall, I can't deny how cute and frilly she always looks. In some way, I wouldn't mind my closet being a combination of all of them. The real problem is, I have no idea where to shop! Whenever people talk about fashion back then, they always mention the quality and cheaper prices, but I feel like they never mention how many accessible brands there was. I feel like back then you could find multiple brands in one store and now we only have big name brand chain stores and small businesses. That's why in thrift stores, on depop, etc., there are tons of clothes with super obscure and unknown brands because there was just THAT MANY small brands pumping out clothes. This has completely stripped the uniqueness away from accessible fashion because all of these huge chain stores just follow "trends" so there's never really anything new. Why can I go to forever 21, Victoria's Secret PINK, and Hollister and find the same pair of light grey wide leg sweatpants?! Why do I have to wait once in a blue moon to find something that I truly want on depop?? (I know it's more sustainable but come on...).
Hmm... nothing else is really going on in my life... bye byeeee!
