Does anybody else see Dexter Morgan from 'Dexter' as autistic. Like, I swear it is so obvious but the amount of teenage boys saying they relate to him cause they're so alpha male and emotionless have gotten in my head. I mean, there's no way I relate to and love someone who is associated with that thinking.
Genuinely, at least once every episode, I see autistic attributes, and it's concerning me how many people (especially teenage boys) see him as some emotionless guy, when really, I believe he's just autistic. Of course, I don't know the diagnostic criteria, but how people talk about him still irks me. I'm only two seasons in and how people talk about Dexter is not accurate in the slightest. I hope people learn media literacy and can figure out their emotional issues instead of forcing untrue depictions on people. (Or stop lying about watching shows you only heard of on passing)
Anyways, yeah, I love good autistic representation boiled down to just plain ol' 'emotionless.'
