book suggestions!

we read to kill a mockingbird in school and i really enjoyed it!

I used to be an avid reader, a bit, i read all of the harry potter books and the chronicals of narnia up until the 5th grade, since then i havent ready anything under four pages outside of school, and I want to get back into reading again! if anyone sees this and has any suggestions let me know, I was contemplating reading the handsmaids tale as my mom seems to enjoy it! i attempted 1984 but the beggining seemed to be quite slow, so i wasnt a huge fan, but id be glad to pick it up again!
